Imagine the future of space exploration with the manned Mars Rover from Ugears, an all-terrain planetary explorer with 6×6 four-wheel drive, a cabin for two astronauts, a spring-driven engine, a rotating intermediate cabin, body and fully sprung independent suspension. The front centerline of this do-it-yourself model is positioned forward for better climbing and stability. Front wheels that turn for maneuverability and large diameter wheels to overcome obstacles while navigating the Martian landscape. At the rear, a platform folds down, while a top-mounted satellite dish rotates 360° and swivels up and down to send or receive signals to and from the base.
The manned Mars Rover has a storage compartment for tools and equipment or rock samples. Open it to find the ratchet wrench that winds the spring motor. On the left rear panel is a Start/Stop slide switch. Set the switch to “Stop” before turning the ratchet wrench a few times, then close the tray, set the switch to “Start” and watch the rover take off to explore the red planet. Set up your own Martian obstacle course and be amazed at how the rover’s six wheels take the bumps thanks to the independent suspension, while the rubber wheels offer grip
