Then now, make room on the shelf, because a powerful new mechanical model has just found its way into the Ugears Automotive collection. Introducing the Drift Cobra Racing Car, a beautifully crafted two-seater convertible – our twist on what is arguably the most respected sports car of all time: the Shelby Cobra 427. Produced between 1965-67, the Cobra 427 had a 7.0-liter, 450-510 horsepower engine, did 0-100 mph in just over 4 seconds and had a top speed of 300 mph.
Powered by a powerful spring engine, the Ugears Drift Cobra race car has the fastest horsepower under the hood of any mechanical wooden model we know. We think this 3D puzzle/do it yourself model is a beauty, with its thick tires, bulging curves (thanks to parts precision laser-cut in fine 1 mm plywood), a large open mouth at the front and a convertible design. The moving parts of this wooden car include rotating front wheels, doors that open and a hood and trunk that raise. Instead of a rubber tire motor, we used a powerful spring mechanism to provide the “muscle power” in this racer and extend the useful life of the model.
