Biography and History Sybille Sauer

As a child she had plenty of dolls to play with. So that can’t be the reason that she has kept herself occupied with dolls for over 20 years. However she is fascinated by people and children alike. Doll modeling for her means the fusing of dreams, desires and emotions. Just like a painter would with their paintings. The word dolls according to her gives the wrong image. Every lover who buys a doll from her sees something in the doll that touches them on a personal level. Investing in dolls is something she doesn’t like and this was not the reason her dolls were made. She spends days, weeks giving the doll a soul. So don’t expect large editions of the dolls. Because she doesn’t have to live of her dolls she can spend as much time as she wants on a doll. Because of her perfectionism it is not uncommon for her to start several times over. She doesn’t compete in the competitions anymore because she has won enough prizes. Prizes from gold to bronze, but these are not really what matter to her. More important is that people can enjoy her dolls. However she does like to get together at presentations these are good way to exchange thoughts and ideas with collectors and artists, a way to gain new inspiration. She hopes that the “doll world” will continue to exist because it is only the artists who are interested and care enough about people who can be doll makers!
