On the Grand Canal, under the famous Rialto Bridge in Venice, the annual Regata Storica boat festival takes place every first Sunday in September, with richly decorated historic ships. But in this Fleroux puzzle, of course, things go wrong again! Because from one of the many side canals, a cargo ship steams into the Grand Canal at full speed and (deliberately?) rams into a police boat that was on its way to thwart an escape of rich mafiosi from the Palazzo Civran, where the Guardia di Finanza police station is located. And this in turn sets off a chain of events that you can discover as you solve the puzzle. Our regulars Bob and Nancy also get to do it again. You’ll see how they develop when you finish the puzzle!
