Biografie en Geschiedenis Sonja Hartmann

In 2000 Sonja started her company “with heart and soul”. She has been designing dolls since 1981. The first doll she made was for her baby girl Gesa. The dolls she made then were made from porcelain, in small limited editions, later she moved onto vinyl and resin. In the mean time Sonja has more than 30 years of experience in the designing of dolls. The people from heart and soul are inspired by these new possibilities, which are both craftsman like and creatively challenging. The KiezKinder BJDs are made from the finest resin, which is poured into casts and further made by hand, the painting with a loop and tinted with an air brush. All KiezKinder have 17 or 19 joints. The head part with or without wig can be changed and closed again using a magnet. The wigs are made from the finest mohair, and mostly hand knotted. All BJDs have mouth blown eyes from Lauscha. The KiezKinder are sweet-cool-fun and confident enough to go their own way. It’s fun to dress them in detailed clothing and shoes and to left in realistic poses. Sonja is very proud because her Ball jointed dolls have a European look. Sonja Hartmann came to the Netherlands for the first time in 2011, at Hesemans in Breda. Because Hesemans clientele are super enthusiastic about her new BJDs, “KiezKinder”, she decided to present them here. A world premiere in our shop is if course super special! She is a perfectionist and this you can see.
